President Adams at HHSOM commencement

It's that time of year, and the UGA commencement exercises on Friday May 10 are an exciting culmination of profound investments in and expansions of human potential. We salute all UGA graduates and the feeling of accomplishment that extends to family and friends, and of course to faculty and staff throughout the university.

At the unit level, Franklin College departments, institutes and programs host more intimate celebrations for graduating students, a list of which can be found here. One to which we would like to give special emphasis is the convocation and awards ceremony in the Hugh Hodgson School of Music, featuring remarks from out-going UGA President Michael Adams:

Adams, who was named the 21st President of UGA in 1997, will be retiring from the presidency this summer after 16 years of outstanding service.  He will remain with the university as a teacher and writer, and the Hodgson School Community is deeply grateful to have him with us on this very special day.

The event, which takes place on Thursday, May 9, at 7 p.m. in Hodgson Hall, will also feature comments by Dean of the Franklin College Alan Dorsey, in addition to speakers from both the undergraduate and graduate classes.
