Laura Rowan

Franklin College Responsibilities

Laura Rowan joined the Franklin OIT team in the summer of 2020 and currently works as a web developer specialist. She provides support and maintenance to all of Franklin College Department sites.

Professional Information

Laura was the web developer for the Office of the Dean of Students at UGA for the last twelve years. She developed web sites, email newsletters and social media pages for the various programs.

She received her bachelor's degree in Art History from the University of Alabama, with a minor in French.  She began her career at the Carter Center and then worked in the Russian and East European Studies department at Emory University. She worked developing websites as part of each position she held. She was also a medical librarian and web designer for a local hospital in North Carolina. She then began designing websites as a career when she helped found and worked for Athens Web Group. She enjoys the challenges in her work and she looks forward to learning new technologies.

Personal Information

She enjoys paddle boarding, hiking, traveling and spending time with her family and pets.
